...Middle Woodland, 2500-B.P., Southern Death Cult Motif...Rattlesnake buttons, and woodpecker are represented along with the triangle one which I haven’t been able to decipher...They made the finest N/A pottery made in the Southeast...Thanks for the comment.

..your friends pot is a Fort Walton, Safety Harbor, Mississippian period one.I.E. Heavy wide incised lines and punctuations, not seen on W/I decorated pottery...A Beauty of a bowl.
