Down here in Taos New Mexico tonight and it sure is chilly, but still older then Boston. Just at the border of Colorado & New Mexico I pulled over for a bit to get a couple pictures of the wild horses that have roamed this area for a long time now. Looking back is Blanca Peak and the entrance to the San Luis Valley. The lighting was low and the horses were a bit far away. I would have liked to get some better shots, as I don't get down this way so much anymore. Oh well! I heard a new song on the radio that was very fitting for driving in this country. It was X ZZ Top member Billy Gibbons playing a song called hombre sin nombre. Good one to cruse through the Land of Enchantment. I keep thinking I'm going to move down here when I'm old.

See that red on Blanca Peak and that's why the Spanish named that range Sangre de Christos. Great part of Colorado. I don't think the Rev. Billy G. has quit ZZTop totally. I've heard some of the BFG's, and it's alright. They were talkin about them last week over at the music store, so they're getting some notice anyway.

Yeah I don't know the status of Billy G and ZZ Top, but it's the first I've herd anything from BGF. It's kind of blues, Santana sound. Definitely a new sound in all the crap they play these days. They play more of the sound I like down here here in Taos. Ain't like the depressing stuff they play in towns like Telluride and Aspen. I just turn the radio off when I'm going through that way. It's interesting the music you'll here out of the local stations as you travel. Colorado Springs is mostly Christian, Salida is old hippy and in Montrose they have a station that plays nothing but the old country. Didn't know that's how the Sangre de Christos got named from the red tint color.

Fort Massachussets sits up there on Blanca, almost got permission to hunt it once but it fell through. Have a friend that got to hit it, nice dragoon buttons and martingale.

Really! I wish I had more time to explore some of the areas I travel through. Ft. Garland has been nicely restored. I like to travel along the old Cochetope pass route when I can.

Beautiful country, steeped in history. You take really good photos!

Well he wasn't much of a friend, cause he didn't invite me along!
