I recently aquired a grouping of NASA items, from Project Mercury through the Shuttle program. These are from the William E Platt estate, notable positions, asst flight director for Apollo 4,6,8,11 & 12, team lead on the Columbia incident.

I have more then I can post & I am still looking for more.

A terrific collection of mementos. Congrats on that.

Amazing collection

oh my goodness....awesome!

Oh yea, nice cross section of goodies, ephemera and hardware!

My fave in my minor collection silly as it may seem, are the pieces of roadway the crawler runs over. I Loved watching the crawler as a kid, and was a highlight of my visit to KSC.

Not silly at all!

It's part of the heat shield that protects the command module from heat of reentry. This part was removed with a hole saw to access the actual bolts so that the shield could be removed for inspection.
