What a fascinating story of Spanish Hill. This is the most information I have seen on it. There was a woman who did a YT video on the history of Spanish Hill as well. Wish I were closer. The woman said that eventually the hill got farmed and flattened out. However a metal detector surely could still find stuff. This is hours away from where I am.

I metal detected there in the early 70s owned by a man named Rosh or Roush...i could go up there any time the cows wern`t up there he told me.
Never found any thing there
Very old blackend small boat found in the Chemung river near there is said to be Spanish from the 1600s.
Crucifix found on the hill is dated to the 1600s .
Very mysterious place there and a lot more around .

Gary - When you say there is a lot more around, do you mean in the immediate area?
This is definitely verification that the Spanish were in PA, which I suspected.

The hill is still there the Ramparts on top and all the earthworks on top got farmed/flattened out or filled in .

Well, I did ask what else was in the area. :)

I am sure there are people who could take a closer look at the sword and cross artifacts and determine age and ownership. I visited the website of the museum who have said artifacts, but they don't have anything there.

I am curious who was here in PA 300 or so years ago due to one of the treasure sights I am working.
