Beautiful Sunny weather today, with a high of 65 degrees.
Went back to the site where we found the 2 Half-dimes and Military buttons yesterday.
Put in about 7 hours hunting this field today. The finds were slim, but I did manage to pull my first Spanish Real.
Unfortunately its super-worn.
At first I thought it was a 1 Real, but now im not sure.
It weighs 1.4 grams, its 17.4mm. I can barely make out Carolus III and Del Gratia on the Front.
I maybe can see a 0 in the date. On the back I see a IND R OM Maybe F.E. HISPA. The details are rough so I maybe a little off on this.
Sorry my camera sucks. Maybe santa will bring me one with Macro.
My buddy found an 1890 indian head penny.
All in all a slow day, but any day I can find a Real is a great day for me, regardless of the condition.
Edit: What I thought was a 0 is actually the C in Carolus. If you look at the top right pic you can barely make out a 17 where the date is supposed to be.

Spanish silver = awesomeness. Congrats
Thanks Scrappy. That little piece of silver made those 7 hours of digging holes well worth it.
Congrats on the silver, worn or not getting anything Spanish is awesome.
Thanks Pepper. I agree. Hopefully when I get that big 8, it will be a lot prettier.
Congrats!!! Even though it's worn, it's an incredible find and on EVERYONES List!
Thanks Isaac. It was one of those finds ive been waiting a long time to make.
Wayda keep the silver flowing BP. Nice early coin.
Thanks Bill. Life is Good. Hopefully it keeps a flowing.
You are killing it BP! Another sweet colonial silver... jealous... Congrats.
Thanks Tom. Its nice to make some people jealous.. Ive been coming here for years looking at others finds. Normally im the jealous one.
The streak continues for BP.
I don't want to hear any complaining in 2016 if they dry up on you!
Just Kidding!
Great finds!
Thanks Muerte. I wont be complaining, but as of lately ive been a bit spoiled.
Its gona be tough when these sites dry out, and I have to go back to digging 20th century.
When you can ID them, that's a GREAT find. Woot!

Skippy
Thanks Skippy. Youre right. I bet if this thing would have been lost a couple years later it would probably have been unidentifiable.
Being worn like that just adds character! Nice save!
Thanks Patriot. Character... I bet this baby was lost in the early to mid 1800s. It has probably seen the inside of a lot of pockets/coin purses.
Probably well traveled.
Congrats on your first REALE.
You have been killing the old silver!!! And me!!
Im sitting home taking care of my wife who just had her Gallbladder out, wishing I could go dig, and BAM I get a text of a Reale.. Thanks Bone. Like putting salt on the wound. Lol
Keep it up.
George
Thanks Vino. Sorry to hear about the wifey, hopefully she has a speedy recovery. I was wondering why you haven't been posting some amazing finds.
I thought maybe the ground has already frozen or was covered with snow. It is unusual for you to not be posting cool stuff.
Anytime I can put salt in your wound and make you envious is a good day for me.
When I sent you that PM yest morn before going out, I just knew I was going to go find a keeper.
