after reading the info provided and much appreciated I have thought to provide a few images of "spatulas"
these are never engraved (as far as I know) but they are used for making pottery and other things
some have rough edges which makes me think that they could have been used for flaking tools
I sure don't mean to start an argument about this as my knowledge is limited. but I do have some understanding of this
I am 60 yrs old and found my first pieces in 1963 so this took a long time, showing the best of 30 yrs does not mean i have a'honey hole'
but what it could mean is that I have put my time in,as far as driving tractor and surface walking after a thunderstorm
Many hours on the tractor and the the last 20 yrs of walking the surface(after heavy thunder storms equals hundreds of hours) or much more
this is privately owned land which has not had the daylights stomped out of it so it is not impossible to find something after a hard rain
this image is what I call spatulas and I have never seen one with any engraving on it

Truly amazing. Your posts and posts like yours are why I post here. Beautiful artifacts.

Some more fine artifacts Larson 8) thanks for sharing. I know what your talking about concerning spending many hours looking for them. Some people are surprised at what I have found in less than a year but I've spent many hours looking and walked till my feet hurt pretty bad the next day. ;D
