El pescado raro es un pejelagarto muy comúnmente se encuentra en Tabasco , en otras áreas como el golfo de México es conocido como Catan, y en Chihuahua lo conocemos como Choaca.
En restaurantes en Matamoros en la frontera con Browsville Texas es un platillo muy solicitado y caro. Delicioso.
