Spelling Pendant/Medal, & 925 Avon Ring...
Hello all,,,
I went to one of our regular parks with Gary yesterday. I started the day out by finding (4) Wheat cents, a 1916, 40, 44/D, and a 45, all within just a few feet from each other. We didn't find anything else in that area so, we moved to a different area of the park.
After firing the detectors back up it wasn't long before I found a "Spelling Pendant/ Medal" at a depth of about 7" down. (pictured below) It measures ( 1-1/8" H x 3.4" W). I hunted a bit longer and I see Gary with his hand in the air, indicating he had found something nice. I walked over to him and he had the biggest silver ring I think I have ever seen. I didn't have my camera with me, so no pics of it. Sorry, I'll see what I can do. It looked something like the Nike emblem across the top and was huge even though the finger hole was kinda small. It was a nice chunk of silver to say the least.
We hunted for awhile longer and I come across a signal that sounded like a bottle-cap to me. It was giving the Cz a very iffy signal, sometimes reading full-scale, and at other times, reading a zinc penny. I was about to just leave it and walk away, but something in my gut said, "Dig it,,, Dig it,,, so I did. It was about 4-1/2" down.

It's marked " 925 / Avon" and has an outside diameter of 1".
It was definitely a good way to end a great month of detecting. This has been one of the best months of detecting since I started, a little over three years ago...
I hope you all have had some luck,,, & Happy hunting~
