Spoke at Society for American Archaeology annual conference on flakers

For people who are interested in prehistoric artifacts, and bonafide flintknapping tools, and flintknapping technologies, I can assure you that there is equally great interest among archaeologists.

I was recently invited to speak at the SAA annual conference. I spoke on the commonality between flakers found at Colha, and flakers that were used in many portions of North America, since the advent of the archaic era.

Here is a photo from the conference showing the flakers.

Also, I am including a photo of a biface experimentally made with one such flaker.

It would appear that our understanding of New World flintknapping technologies is in its dawning infancy.
