Got to search in an indoor arena for horses. I didnt find the treasure , but if the screw went into an animals hoof, or tractor tire it could have been costly!
Nice and warm today in Ontario

All in all you did fantastic :)

You took a nice opportunity to search in a time when most places are inaccessible because of frost or snow. Good for you! I never thought of that... there are a few covered arenas nearby......

Snow is going quick, I lost a plow shank from a box spreader, found its pin , a couple chain links, and piece of fencing wire,
The pin was about 4-5 inches down in wet clay soil,
I got alot ofbother great signals, but on digging the completely disappeared, no idea what or how that happened

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Big hats off to you all,
I found an edge of a local beach, just barely opening from the snow and ice, about 3’wide by 22’ long. After an hour of carefully digging I found square nails, bits of square nails, a hair bobby pin, a pull tab,………… and my first penny! My first coin ever!

Its a huge learning curve, but the biggest thing to learn is to slow down, expect nothing and re-learn patience! This world has become too instant gratification and if anything the metal detecting requires is patience and tenacity.
Hats off to you folks, just when i was about to call it…. the penny came. Weird eh!

A fellow lost a very expensive phone in the snow, this was plowed into big piles and is finally melting, I went out today to try and find it, lots of nuts bolts etc,
Found a nice shovel instead!

I have had disappearing signals too. I have speculated that they are from clumps of rust that get disturbed and broken up as we dig. But that's just a guess.
I have discovered that hearing aids give no signal if I have any discrimination on. Maybe it's the same for cell phones.

Clumps of rust, i’ve seen that in soil, vould there be enough target in the clump then to set out a ghost like signal, ?
