Hello everyone,

Anyone else sick of the rain? :'(. I am going out tomorrow hunting and this time I am venturing out of my yard :icon_sunny:. Hubby wants to go scout for the upcoming hunting season so I am going to tag along.. We will see how his night goes today is one of his 24's so if the night is busy we may end up at the in-laws hunting their woods. Well at least there is a bathroom there ;D. Anyways we are going to be heading to the fairgrounds this weekend for the gun show and I was wondering if anyone knew if MD'ing is allowed on the grounds. I don't want to dig just look for change and dropped jewlery. Any info would be appreciated!!!
Have a good one.

The BIG E is private property, I am sure that permission would be needed. FYI most of the fair ground is paved. Just a few areas with dirt or grass. Good Luck if you get the chance to search.

CaptainJack,

Thanks for the info. not sure if I am going to bother. Hubby will be in the show and I am not nuts about detecting alone anyways then lets add in the few bad eggs who give being a gun owner a bad name (you know the scary ones with guns who have them just to say they do). Not worth the trouble. Rather go in the show and see if I can find my Pink Pearl Grips for my 38 Spec..

Speaking of Fairgrounds....

Hi allmtl,

For what it's worth, back in the early 80's the club I belonged to (New England Treasure Finders Assoc.) held a hunt at a huge fairgrounds in North Hampton (that's near you, right?). The hunt was fun. But, the best part was hunting the actual fairgrounds. Lots of pre-1900 silver was found that day. I've always thought about going back there someday but since I'm just outside of Boston it was too long of a drive. (probably would have been worth the drive)

I'm not sure if the place is even there anymore. Seems like all the good places have been paved over or now have houses on them.

May be worth checking out a map of the area and seeing if it's still there !!!! It certainly had LOTS of goodies still in the ground back in 1980. It probably has been hammered to death since then. But, no place is every completely 'cleaned out'.

Happy Hunting,

Brian in MA.

Did ya find those pink pearl grips ! ???

Funny... I saw a 38 with those grips on the Northeast shooters net just the other day......
If I can find the page again I'll email it to ya......

You mentioned your hubby was "in" the show... is he a dealer ? pm me if he is.... I'm looking to put a trade together......
