Beautiful Walking half. Probably my favorite US coin. Congrats!
My favorite is a standing quarter.. it's a beautiful designed coin...

Got out to a park here in OKC and finally got a standing liberty. 1917.

XP Deus 2 with 9" coil. 10-12 inches down. Rang up 94-96

And a tiny silver ring. Has been confiscated by my 8 yr old. Rang up 80
I forget but isn't there a particular standing liberty that is worth quite Abit? Maybe I'm thinking of the 1923 mint...? Beautiful coin...nice recovery!

Very Nice Walking Liberty Half !!!! Congrats!!!!

Walking Half's are one of the best looking coins ever minted - congrats !

And I agree with "Norwichnut"... there's something extra special about Standing Liberty Quarters !

Thanks all. It is a Walking Half. I have not the experience in digging these and am not to familiar with them yet

Congrats on that nice looking Walking Liberty Half. Those are one of my favorite coins to dig.

It has an "S" mintmark on the back. Nice find.

Love the big silver! Those are hard to find!

amazing that you was able to pull that from a park that's probably been hunted by lots of people in the past. Excellent find!

There are several key dates of Standing Liberty Quarters depending on the grade. 1916, 1919D, 1919S, 1921, 1923S, 1927S, and the 1918S over 17 come to mind.....

Thanks, it sounds like there are quite a few significant dates and grades to watch for...

Seems like you're enjoying the D2. My hunting buddy just got one, lots to learn but I think it appears to be an excellent machine.
Your find- a 17-S Walking Half- very sweet find, especially at that depth in a most-likely heavily hunted park. Huge difference between those and the Standing Liberty quarters- far more scarcity in the SLQ series than the Walkers- I've collected SLQs for over 50 years- you can't go wrong with the beauty of either type of coin.
Great job finding that Walker!

Great recovery! Love the standing ladies

Pounded, as I am told. I was actually walking out of the shade of some trees, trying to get into a little sunlight, to get warmer, and just a super clean signal. I was surprised when that popped out.

The 9" coil on the XPD2 is really amazing at depth. The signal was crystal clear, but soft. VDI's stuck on either axis of the swing. Knew it was going to be good, but did not expect to find this.

Congrats on the Half and the silver ring.
Good to hear that you're enjoying the benefits already of the new machine.
