$300 in VF-20 condition per The Official Red Book (2008) retail values.
$165 of that value is attributed to the 'star' designation after the serial number.
It's a keeper !! (and a sure winner in a Liar's Poker game).
Don........

Thanks for the info . . . I was surprised to have gotten it at the bank . . . I always check for unusual bills when I cash checks.

That is a GREAT find, congrats on that one! If you want to sell it, I may be interested.

Thanks . . . I'm not sure if I want to sell . . . but no harm in making an offer.

Lot of zeros. Put it up on ebay, or keep it. Nice find!

Awesome find! Keep that one. The star notes are always desirable.

that's a sweet find!

I can't read the series year.
If it is in the 2000s, I'd consider the bill as modern and without premium.
If it is older, then the crease and the post-issuance marks will detract from its value , IMO.

The 2008 Red Book (retail values) shows only values in uncirculated (63) condition.
If your bill were in unc. condition it's retail value would be $25 over par, except New York at $65 over par.

I have been told the star mark indicates a bill pulled from circulation due to condition and reprinted. High demand for sure.

High supply, for sure.
Millions of stars printed in 1996.
Most printed in NY (nearly 18M).
Rarest is the one from Cleveland (160k).
