When you head out with your GPX 5000 and Nugget Finder 12” Evo for a day of placer nugget hunting and come home a hard rock miner.. 🤣 The white stuff on it is called caliche and it’s in a bit of an ultrasonic bath to remove as I type this. Specific gravity test comes out at 121 grams, almost 4 ounces. First 4 links are videos, too large to embed including showing continuity of the sheet of gold in the specimen. Found in Southern Nevada/Northern Arizona at less than a foot depth. The little tuft of green copper is a nice touch.

Wow! What a sweet find--amazing chunk of mineralized quartz.

Congratulations, and all the best,

nice gold sandwich ya got there. are you going to keep it as is?
at 121 grams its hiding a lot.
might be interesting to give it a soak in muriatic for a bit.
Hi, I’ve soaked it a bit to get rid of the caliche, probably worth more if I left it as it is, will make some great slices for pendents.
