Hello all, I have been hunting an old paddle wheeler/ fur trade landing for the last couple of weeks. I know this is todays finds but I rely on satellite internet or a cell phone hotspot to access the internet, so I hope I'm not breaking any rules to post my finds. It took me awhile to finally find this place although it was pretty much under my nose. Not much info online, just a few books I found in a library in another town, google earth and gut hunches. The site, from what I have found is overlapped in history starting in the early 1800s to after the second world war, it is not inhabited now. We had a bit of a heat wave here lately , I'm a northerner , so not really used to it ( high 80s low 90s lol) bugs of course were bad , they got me good but I really felt bad for my dog, the deer flies and horseflies were swarming her so bad she took off and submerged herself in the river. steamboat landing finds july 2015 017.webp The coins I found are starting from top left to right 1914s wheat cent, 1946 Canada 1 cent, 1911 Canada 10 cent, middle row left to right 1923 Canada 1 cent, 1913 Canada 5 cent, 1946D U.S. 10 cent, bottom row left to right 1917 Canada 1 cent, 1910 Canada 10 cent, 1915 Canada 25 cent. I hope everyone enjoyed my post and I will post the relics next.

Nice early 20th century silvers! I love old sterling Canadian coins.
Google Earth is a very good tool to help locate new hunting grounds, I use it alot myself

Thanks UnderMiner, The 1910, 11, dimes and the 1913 5 cent were a spill, I had to sit down because my heart was pounding so hard. I am a coin collector, way better to dig them up than buy them.

Same here! I collect coins and whatever relics I can find using my treasure hunting techniques. That must have been some experience finding a sterling coin spill that old!

:hello2: Thanks for sharing the lovely old coins! :hello2: Looking forward to the relics also. Definitely you're in heat wave, whew.... Hope it cools soon! :cat: Andi

Dude, nice coins! Finding those old silver spills is really a great feeling. That 1914s wheat is a good find as well, definitely worth more than the average wheat cent.

Also, that 1915 quarter is GREAT! Not sure the grade of yours, but in VF-20 it's worth over $250.

Thanks,J.Cache, I found it between a group of spruce trees , under roots, between iron trash. I chased a couple of round nails out of the hole before it showed itself.. The 1915 is hard to get in higher grades but I think this coin is f15, anyways I found it and its always better than buying it. Happy hunting.

great bunch of finds!, I love the old Canadian Large cents!

That's a great hunt, with some really great finds! Keep us posted with your finds! I love the variety and the quality of the coins you pulled there.

A real nice assortment of coins you have there. I enjoy seeing old Canadian coins.

Great finds! Congrats!

I hate horse flies, the only good thing is the are much slower than normal flies & you can kill them when they land on you.

Good finds, by the way.

Very nice results from the hunting, looks like your on the right spot. Liking the silvers as one never gets tired of digging up the older ones. This year seems to be the year for the assorted flying blood sucking demons. I have now detached the hood off the bee suit and tuck it into the shirt collar as the fix to the problem. This was a shot of a kill off my neck this past week of a deer fly.
