Ok guys, even though the finds were ok, yesterday was tough so I needed redemption lol, I had about 2 hrs before dark today so I went to my park hoping to dig a few wheats at least, I get there and either some animal re-dug about half of my plugs and made a mess or someone else is there digging like crap, I spent 30 mins fixing plugs then bailed, aggravated. I remembered that my brother in law just moved to Florida and his house was about to be foreclosed on so game on, it was built in early 1920s so the chances were good for a few old coins. Right away I hit a wheat followed by a ton of clad with a few wheats in between and got a killer 11-45 at 4 inches and out popped this baby, 20150416_183042.webp my first Palmolive cake token!:headbang: I love these things and always wanted to find one!20150416_183051.webp by this point its starting to get dark, and a few clad later I get a screamer 11-46 at 4 inches and bang!,20150416_194651.webp this sterling bliss religious medallion, 20150416_194743.webp20150416_194734.webpmy 1st silver medallion on the year, got another wheat before it was too dark to detect, all in all i managed 5 wheats, the medallion, the Palmolive token, a small buckle, a pin of some sort that says "gives arma ferrant" and a whole bunch of clad, man todays short hunt felt great!, thanks for looking and hh!!20150416_202809.webp20150416_204846.webp20150416_204910.webp

Nice looking silver and the tokens are always cool.

thank ya sir:thumbsup:, that token is pretty darn close to my favorite find so far!

something about that era that I really like!!!

Congrats on the nice digs. Found one of those tokens last summer, It is a cherished token in my collection. These were made between 1930-38 I believe.

Don't you just love it when your eyes unexpectedly see the word "Sterling" stamped on something you just found :)

I love tokens They are very personal and help you bring the past to life in your mind. Awesome find!

Lovely stuff!
WTG!

yes sir indeed I do, but with the signal I was getting from this, I almost was certain it was a silver dime or quarter, so I guess I was a bit surprised!

Thanks will!, when it first came out of the ground I was thinking "what the heck, LC?", then I rubbed a bit and saw good for one, and was like YES!! I was just saying I wanted a real token, one that said good for one something, or good for x amount in trade, how cool is that!

It happened to me once too. I always replace every plug... One day I went back to a spot I had been to the night before and there were plugs flipped up and back out of the ground, I immediately got mad then looked over and a grey squirrel was there pulling up the plugs. I ran him/her off and spent the next 15 minutes repairing all of its damage... LOL

I wonder what makes them want to do that?, I didn't even turn on my etrac, just spent 30 mins fixing the ground, glad it worked out like it did though lol!!

Nice digs. Cool token

Congrats on the finds. Sorry about the holes. GL&HH.

Thanks CARM, I was really pumped to get that, I like tokens, I think they represent a really cool time in our country's history, even though they often were from the depression era
