Think I would look into the Xterra , but am partial to the Minelabs here =D

I know that all three have loyal users and have heard good things about them. I wouldnt think any of them would be a "bad choice."

There is an unadvertised special on the Minelab X-terra 705 right now, you might be able to get her a nice upgrade at a good price. Its an easy machine to learn. PM me for details if you are interested.

Ok,, the Deleon is out....i do not like the same vdi for all coins, so.....i like the whites machine and the american made quality. But is the minelab better at anything? Has anyone used both?

It is better at changing frequencies, since the whites does not do this. If you decide to prospect or specialize in silver etc... You can change frequencies with a coil change, for better response to the conductivity of the targets you are hunting. Also you can choose how many tones you would like to use. You can also run all metal and STILL have multi tones and VID numbers. The only Whites I've had is a GMZ (50 khz) for propsecting, the only thing I didn't like is the beeping on small weeds, stubble, etc... Just too sensitive, it got annoying at times.

There are great things about the xterra that I like also. I think we will talk about it and after given all the info and seeing both machines I will leave it up to her....

Thanks to everyone.

Of the three, the X-Terra is definitely loaded with features and high on the bang for the buck list.

The Minelab X-Terra 705 is not out of the price range with our current special! Be sure to mention tnet! ;)
