I'm using an ace250 and I always run it on coin setting and the sensitivty 2 notches from the left side of the gauge. Any advice on anything else I sould try with it.

I tried using jewelry mode but got tired if pull tabs

You could select one more notch for sens. Coin mode is fine but Coin and Jewelry mode lets you decide if you want to dig the reading near pull tab. Around 90% of the gold rings lost ring in at this range. At least you get to choose if you want to retrieve it. I use a bayonet to probe for the target and if I feel it is jambed in the pull tab or ring, I can lever it out of the ground. This saves the time spent cutting a plug and damaging the grass. If you are in an area where people swing their arms more rings could be lost. It's up to you how much fun you want to have. Sometimes I only retrieve all the pull tab readings which increases my ring finds.
