The nice days are few and far between these days,so it was refreshing to not look at the snow in the yard for another day. Plus temps melted it away and the sun showed it's face for the first time in days also.

Me and Iron Patch got to do our weekly trip to a muddy field. We went back to an area we detected about ten years ago and picked up a few pieces and bits; and we were lucky enough to find a piece of another older site in a next door field that gave up a few bits as well.
I got a couple of decent coins, a spread eagle token from 1815, a nice George ll, and Leith Halfpenny from 1797 (Condor token)
a couple of buttons, a shoebuckle frame piece that,I'm sure, I have the other half someplace!,musket balls, a few different ones only 14mm, gun pieces (the ramrod thimble was from last dig, I just forgot it in the car til today) and few other scraps

It was a great day for detecting, weather-wise,here's hoping a few more are left for this year!

Beautiful finds I.H., now that's what I call 'old coinage'! :occasion14:
Love that large piece of blue glazed pottery too!

Looks like you and Iron Patch had a great hunt today,
Dave

The Leith is in great shape….funny how so many coppers get destroyed and some come up as nice as they do… great finds and here's hoping you get out for a few more digs!

A great hunt for sure with all the old coppers being able to be IDed.

I've yet to get an spread eagle token...and I want one.

I guess more important is you got out, I stayed in the house...can't find shanything from here.

Hope you get another dig...or two.

That Leith is gorgeous and the spread eagle is an awesome looking token. Great day bud

Nice going on the coinage, pretty good shape.

That Leith is the winner for sure. I'm very familiar with them, but it rings a little detecting bell with me. Have you dug one before?

Always nice to see the coppers popping out in that condition! Always gives you hope that if a rare one pops out at that site it'll be great as well.

The thing I love about this site is seeing stuff I've never heard of, (leith). Those coins are in great shape and those other finds look like you're on a nice colonial site. love finding roundballs too!

Great hunt

I don't remember getting one before, but that's just memory....I'm sure it's my first like this

Very nice coins. Congrats.

Must have been just a random post I seen.

That Leith is killer. Always nice seeing something different and new come out of the ground. Also like the ramrod thimble. Good luck on your next trip

here's the other side
this is also the first coin I've ever found with edge lettering, evidence remains but it is there, but not clear
a quick search on Leith tokens pointed that out to me
