still lookimg for a metal detector

If you don't just pick one up you will never know if you like it. Any one will work to start, its all according to your budget. If budget isn't a problem then go with the AT Pro or something comparable.

yes your right . I'am looking at a fisher F4 and a AT pro .thanks the hunt continues

I have a new AT Pro with a 1 1/2 year warranty left on it. Literally unused with extra coil (5x8"). It's in mint condition with zero issues. Asking 525. Shipped. See my listing under the classifieds section for pics. PM me with any questions.

I'd go for an Ace 250 or 400, and work your way up if you take to the hobby.

Cyber Monday is coming! :laughing7:

I used the F4 and loved it, It's really an F2 that can be ground balanced in all metal mode and has All Metal mode whereas the F2 doesn't. For the cost of a new F4 you could get a used F75, or for another $200 you could get a new one. I upgraded to an F75 six months after I started to swing the F4. It is a great machine and will compete with the XP Deus, CTX 3030 and other flagship detectors from other manufacturers. I'd take the F75 over the ATP and if you are stuck with a $400 budget, I'd look at the bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro and use your savings for a good pin pointer.

call Dennis at METALDETECTORS.COM great deals

I originally bought the Garrett ACE 350 and I did not like it at all. I kept digging up so many trashy items because I was having a hard time discerning what a good signal was. I know that if I spent more time with it I would have learned its language and would have been more successful as will be the case with any quality detector that you will buy. I eventually bought the Garrett AT gold and I have absolutely loved it! It seemed to be a lot easier for me to learn. The Garrett AT Pro is a very similar detector so if you have the $600 then I would go with the PRO or Gold. I know there are other detectors that are good too but I am just speaking from my experience with Garrett AT Gold. The service from Garrett has been excellent but I am still not very keen on just a 2 year warranty so for my next detector I have also been looking into Tesoro brands because of the lifetime warranty. I hope you get a detector that you really love and find enjoyable no matter what brand you go with because this hobby is amazing! I think that as long as you buy a quality detector from one of the main brands and you take the time to learn it (because there is definitely different learning curves with each detector) you will be successful with it! Happy hunting and hope to see some of your great finds on this site in the future!!!

Where do you plan on using and looking for what with this metal detector? Some are better at certain things than others.

I really like my F75 but it is not what I would choose for a dedicated beach/surf detector. Nor for gold prospecting. It will do some but there are better choices. It is the bomb for coin shooting - which is my main interest.

I wish Minelab would come out with a new waterproof Sovereign GT with TID. I'd be first in line to buy one.
