Stolen Coins

Had some pretty spectacular coins offered to me by some guys that didn't quite fit the collector type. How can I tell if a coin has been stolen?

You really can't unless their very rare or slabbed and you can check the serial numbers. Other than that it's hard.

They were both Rare and Slabbed. Typed number in PCGS and it said nothing about it being stolen. If it was stolen would it be listed on NGC or PCGS?

It should tell you who owns it.
