Hi everyone,

Wanted to hear your opinion on these two items I recently found that I'm trying to ID. I posted it on Today's finds and was hoping to get your opinion as well. First one appears to be made of slate or nephrite, could possibly be an adze or a hide stretcher/scraper. The second I'm not sure about the type or the period... A spear head, knife or some type of Clovis...

Thanks.

2nd artifact appears to be a blade, no clue about the 1st; I've never seen anything like it before.

Nice finds. I have no clue about the slate piece. Ant is correct on the knife. Maybe more info would help, many on this site are very expirenced.

Down here, we'd probably type the point as a Stanfield. Don't know about up your way though

The slate piece might be a variation on a spatulate celt, never intended for actual use? Or possibly an effigy pendant of the same? Was the small end made that way or broken at some point and the corners rounded off? The first picture looks almost like the edge of a drilled hole? Looking more closely, I don't know if it's even slate. Seeing little translucent fractures here and there. Just taking stabs here on some great finds. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks sandchip.

Just got an other possible ID. Could be a half of a banner stone.
