Hey all, I have a hard time identifying whether a piece is worked, hoping for you can help. I admit that it was the shape of this piece that caught my eye and it seems like it has been worked. There is what seems to be a beveled area on the back of the stone by where the coin is placed and areas of the edges and surfaces of the stone seem to be pecked and scratched....but not betting my life on it...wouldn't surprise me if it's just a naturally formed rock. Thanks for your advice and input!

Sorry, like Buckleberry said, natural stone.

I think natural, seems like you know what to look for but maybe not seeing the forest through the trees, as in what function would a piece shaped like that serve? I know not everything fits neatly into tool styles but that doesn’t fit any common tool shape.

it is actually not an uncommon natural shape, I have a few myself.
