Maybe landscape mulch, but it's probably vidal to the natural ecology in some manner and maybe you would just leave it there and let mother nature do what it does to it all.

Cripes! Don't let the Oak Island boys see this! They'll be drilling the whole beach looking for the tunnel to Oak Island. I can hear them now "This has all got to be 1700s wood!"

A lot of that wood is from our flooded rivers, including the Chetco, right on the other side of the jetty/beach pictured.
