I thought this was going to be a large broken bifurcate when I saw it laying in the mud. It has symmetrical breaks? on the sides. It looks like chert but it's light for it's size. I'm really not sure of the material. Any opinions on this one are appreciated.

Very strange Thirty7. From frist glance it looks like a birdstone remnant. But after looking at it looks to be a broken down multi-purpose tool...................JMO..........................................GTP...............

Ryan, like we discussed on the other site, I believe it is part of a Popeye Birdstone.

Nice find buddy. I have a body and tail I found back in the 80's but mine is missing the head.

Wow, if it's a popeye birdstone, maybe, then it's a HEARTBREAKER! fer sure. Nice find :icon_thumleft: One that'll keep you scratching your head.

Think it could be from a cave or spring being light in weight? I have seen many items polished that should be something that were almost like a porous smooth limestone and very light . Any caves or springs near the site?
