Hello everyone I found this strange hunk of copper it is about 5 pounds looks like coral or crystal copper and has silver speckles all over it. I have confirmed that it is copper and is non magnetic it has a cut in the middle so I know humans have had it before, maybe the cut is for some type of display stand or something. I have no idea what to make of it I been a rock collector since I was a kid so I know a little bit but this is beyond my knowledge base.

I was thinking the same thing but it just seems more bubble like if you know what I mean but very intricate.

Pretty sure Tim is right. I have seen many display pieces that look quite similar in Michigan's upper peninsula. Can't tell from your picture, but these are sometimes found with quartz, silver, gold etc attached. Looks like a very nice specimen and might be worth more than you would think.

That is what everyone is telling me so I am going to go with that. I had a friend of mine look at it she was featured in an article about rocks and minerals and she said the same and she sent a photo to a geologist friend of hers and he said the same thing native copper with globular clusters. I was thinking to put it up for auction on Ebay starting at $20.00 to cover my shipping but my friend said no way start it more like $200.00 I said ok sounds good to me.
