Strange Percussion Cap

Found this near a mid 1800’s homestead. The lead piece is mushroomed at the end. Total length with the lead is 7/8”. The cap is 1/4” wide.

Neat, wondering if that might be the guns nipple piece inside or if it was filled incorrectly.. I would have hated to be the one pulling the trigger on that day.. bet there is a story behind that one
 
Looks like a modern fired copper jacked bullet to me.
 
Makes sense. It is longer than percussion caps I have found. This area still has plenty of hunters. Thanks
