I drove by my old honey hole which was old hotel which is under construction . I noticed the construction crews were working on the street and sidewalks so I had to stop by after work. My first find a small unk copper coin soon after that I had a 12-13 signal and comes ou my 2second V nickel ever , time was limited and it was getting dark and last two holes were a 1961 Rosie and what I believe to be a mini ball. I only hunted for hr, so going back this weekend 20170614_195535.webp20170614_195539.webp20170614_195908.webp20170614_200057.webp20170614_203145.webp20170614_211434.webp20170615_073041.webp20170615_073046.webp20170615_073056.webp20170615_073127.webp20170615_073156.webp

Great scouting jimzz! The V nick has gobs of detail..I have a heart-wrenching story about road tear outs..they pulled up the asphalt, then the bricks from the MAIN DRAG through downtown...I had just started detecting and did not realize the potential that bare dirt offered...tho my wife did cajole me into going down after hours to "borrow" a truck load of the old bricks (she had permission)...please note...that the home and birthplace of William T. Sherman sits on this main drag...im still kicking myself..and this was like a 3 city block tear out, sidewalks included. I can only imagine what was, and still is, laying under all those brick. Jimzz...looking forward to your other finds to come...Ddf

Yup when they did ground work on the old hotel which was built in 1950s found some great stuff, president Theodore Roosevelt stayed in that hotel + other famous Western celebrities Kit Carson Buffalo Cody Pancho Villa, so be busy this weekendView attachment 1462295 this the old copper coin next to a Penny for size, any ideas what it could be???
