Hello everybody.

Had some enjoyable hunts of late, nice weather mostly, though I was freezing
yesterday - in the drizzling , wind chilled 30 degree weather. Today was
warm and sunny. Found all this stuff on my last 4 hunts. Never seen a
slide like this, Statue of Liberty. Never found a ring marked Sterling Espo.
And I am embarrassed to say I have no idea if that US button thingy is
real old or not. It looks military, and the fastener on the back still screws
on and off. Also a pic of my last few silvers.

I've seen those sliders before, I think some member has one in their avatar; are you sure it's not dirty silver? Either way, cool, nice ring and silver and ouch! cut Roosevelt! ffd

Great digs! The slide I have only seen one other! very cool! :icon_thumleft:
the US items is a military collar disc. I have seen some silver rings with Espo in them.
Well done! :icon_thumright:
Oh yeah, nice half dime! :laughing7:

Nope not silver, FFD, I can smell silver w/ one nostril closed :laughing7:

Thanks Spooky, decided to look up the Slide and this is what I've found.

"Cub Scouts Strengthen the Arm of Liberty Neckerchief slide.
A rare slide.1950. The Boy Scouts of America chose this as
the theme for the 40th anniversity of scouting. As a service
project scouts raised funds that commissioned hundreds of
8 1/2 foot tall replicas of the statue of liberty to be given
to various towns. Some still exist today, the Boy Scouts got
pins, the Cub Scouts neckerchief slides.Copper plated or
solid copper."

As for the US hat or collar brass, I'm still trying to look it up, but I think it is 1946 or earlier.

Good luck,
HH.

Yeah, love that slide B&B. Nice pile of silver too. Great hunting. Keep it up!! hh dan

lots of good looking silver there! congrats on some neat finds! I like the US collar pin, and looks like you got a pretty rare boy scout slide. good digs B!!

Nice bunch of silver and very cool scout slide  I've gotten a few of the lapel pins for the military that have the screw on type back but not sure about the vintage. All mine in the service attached with a clip.

Nice digs!! Congrats on all that silver :icon_thumleft:

My wife Gloria also found a slide like that. I'm sure she still has it somewhere. Can't remember if she found it on land or water.
