Stumped by fossil

Is anyone able to recognize what is in this fossil I found today along Lake Erie? It was the only one I found like this and I can't tell what I'm looking at. thanks for any help you might be able to offer!

Solitary coral

Thanks for the response. The ends are certainly solitary coral, and I did find plenty of that, but I was stumped by the middle portion, which almost looks stem-like.

Looks to me to be several smaller shell/coral types mixed together by concretion.

Devonian coral mishmash. The stick-like bit might be another species of coral or something else, but not bones. There are some neat things to be found on the Great Lakes shores!

Coral. It's been replaced by Quartz and the middle is worn.

If this is a solitary coral, or a group of several, it is much more likely to be a rugose coral rather than a tabulate. That is, a member of the Subclass RUGOSA.
