Lol..my grocery store has the same thing. I was wondering also.

Dawg it's simple. Simply tell them you want to get one of their personal 10-inch pizzas and pay with a twenty. Tell them you need the change to be in dimes cause you own a vending machine business.

I have never encountered this, but my first attempt to score the coin(s) I wanted would be to ask politely if they would do it.

I asked once and they said no.

So you could see a silver dime or quarter in there? That would drive me nuts, especially if it's a quarter.

Sweet observation 50, this never crossed my mind.

The McDonalds in my area have the same thing. Glad I'm not the only one who had that thought.

It was a quarter, certainly did not look Canadian.

pay with $$ and keep ordering food till you get it

say it comes to $5.35, pay them $6.34, you get the picture, maximize change while minimizing convenience. I'll give it a shot next time I'm in subway, I'll see if I can specify how I want my change back. I imagine, they do have to open those tubes, and restock the coins by cracking open a couple of rolls?

I had an incredibly good idea, say you are planning for a trip to the city, and need some change alot of it for parking. ask politely, and say listens, I need at least $10 IN QUARTERS I'll give you a buck just for your troubles (if there is enough AG in them slots) Then say "OH" I'm also going to a casino that takes dimes, I'll need all of those to.
