Successful Hunt!?

...depends on what you're looking for.
A fresh plowed field between town and an outpost of the old fortifications brought "some" lead up. I would be lying if i said i was happy with that much exercise in digging. Other than a bunch of musket balls only a couple coins showed up. Better finds were one toasted roman Follis, thimble, spindle whorl, Prussian belt hook, head of a china doll and some buttons. At least i'm happy to go out digging as an early winter start with frozen soil stopped us last week.

Dang Lu, you found about as many lead balls as WW2 junk! Must be fairly virgin area with all that stuff. Now to find a few gold and silver coins. Good luck.

These belt hooks turn up from time to time. They were attached through 6 holes so the connection was pretty strong. Not many lost. Unfortunately the cup weight is not stamped.

Look at the .50 Cal. bullets and casings, these are our pulltabs. Millions of them in German fields...

I guess it's not detected often because it's not a very special area. Just the outskirts of a very old town. Still a place where everything can turn up.
