I finally managed to work my schedule around getting to visit Pa and while up there, got to meet two of the finest gems I've ever found.

Old Dude and Jeff of Pa. They were two of the most congenial, gentleman hosts I've had the pleasure of hunting alongside.:)

They both took time out of their schedule to meet and guide me to places where I felt very comfortable hunting. We compared notes from time to time and I must admit, I learned a thing or three. I had told both of them that I was not that far north to look for hunting grounds. I didn't care where we went. They told me both places had been pounded and I felt right at home.

Did I, (or they) get rich? I don't think so, at least not by intrinsic values. ;) I also told both I was more interested in meeting them and comparing signals. Here's the results:

First, with Old Dude:

2014 (665).webp

No matter where I go, my screen name still seems to apply. :dontknow: :)

2014 (666).webp

And, one whole wheat toast, 1937, (the one behind the goal, Old Dude), hold the zinc!

LOL

A fun day!

Then, today with Jeff of Pa. He got the oldest coin and we both wanted to see if the ATP would uncover anything in
a very pounded park. I love a challenge! :)

Here's the take:

2014 (667).webp
2014 (668).webp

Again! :dontknow:

2014 (669).webp

Tiny bullet?

2014 (670).webp
2014 (671).webp
2014 (672).webp

Pigeon band?

2014 (673).webp

Jeff? I stayed about another hour or two. More clad from the ball fields.
And this hoop earring from the old area.

The post appears to be stainless steel(magnetic) but the rest is not.

Doesn't matter though, Blingie and Fishy are happy playing some sort of game and
I was able to get back in the house.

OH YEAH! I forgot!

I got something for those corks you found today!

2014 (674).webp

My thanks to Old Dude and Jeff of Pa for fun hunts!

(Cjon? Well, I guess he really didn't want to meet me. ;) LOL )

Thanks for peeking folks!

Good company always makes a hunt more enjoyable regardless of what you find (or don't find).

had to have been awesome to hunt much less meet them, and you did pretty good with the pro on pounded places. better do what you can while you, those little ones can really change things up for a while...but for the good

Weren't your ears burning? Old Dude and I discussed you in some very specific terms! Besides you being about another hundred miles in an entirely different direction, I never received an invite. :dontknow::tongue3:

Actually, I would love to revisit my old stomping ground there in Philly. Feel like paying a 10,000 dollar fine? ;)

I can speak about Jeff of Pa and absolutely a fine gentleman!

What I gotta do? Make a visit to your back door and knock? Couldn't have gotten much closer. ;)

Aw heckfire! I know what it is to be expecting. You just need to take care of business for now. I was up there this weekend but only had my phone and it just would not cooperate with me in trying to do stuff on the net. So I really couldn't communicate. I asked Old Dude to mention to you when we hunted on Sat.
I also know about night shifts, no need to explain.

Good work guys, we are planning a water trip on the treasure skiff, looking at an old spot, on an old river.

I'm gonna beg off. I'm just now getting back up to speed on ground hunting. Not quite ready to get back into the water just yet. I will though. :)

You guys make a deadly trio!

WOW Looks like a Great hunt to Me "W_" !

first your Pigeon Band. I love those things

The ( NPA ) means it originated from the National Pigeon Association.
73 is the year the pigeon was born.
RU should be the Clubs ID
9o may be the particular birds #
& 2 the Size of the ring

but RU90 could also be the Roost (club) Location

perhaps they changed how info is put on them.

This from NPA

Say... the band number reads, NPA 7 07 AT 1089

The ( NPA ) means it originated from the National Pigeon Association.

The (7) is the band size.

The (07) is the year the pigeon was born.

The (AT) is the band alphabetical sequence.

The (1089) is a unique serial number for identifying that individual bird

I haven't found an ID online for it yet National Pigeon Association

LOL on the Fish & the Lizard I like them Too and the Hoop earring is cool finding Bling.

only thing, I wish you would have found Silver. I was rooting for you

Anyway.... Was Fun while it lasted & I'm sorry, But compared to my energy Level lately
you are a Youngun. But your Experience is no where near Young if you get my point.

Good Hunting With Ya :notworthy:

P.S. great on the Cork Screw  How did I miss that ? :tongue3:

Thanks for the kind words Sir! I suppose if we are gems, Jeff would be the diamond and I am a cubic zirconia lol. It was great to meet you. Whenever you are up this way, give me a shout!

A wonderful part of this hobby is getting to meet and hopefully hunt with other guys and gals who are like minded. I've only been detecting since January and have been fortunate enough to meet Smittyman and CarolinaTom both from T-Net. Both are classy guys who love the hobby, have a great sense of humor, and a love of the history of the things we find.

Glad you got to meet two of the "legends" of this site. That had to be fun. It's a shame they didn't put you on a honey hole like Vino does to his guests (nudge, poke, jab)

Hey now! I did take him to my Mercury Spill Park, lol. Even Cjon hasn't been there!
