Finished this site in 3 hours with some rain showers, but it ended as we expected. With plotting 6 Roman Bronzes in the scatter area on the limits of the site. I did at least get a Roman Pin & a nice Tudor Book Clasp.

The overall result of 109 Roman Bronze Coins & 2 Silver for 4 days effort was better than expectations. After 4 years we are getting close to clearing off most of the metal, future years will be tougher.

Yeap, only kept it as its a marker mark I've not had.

Wow, those sites you have are loaded with Roman Bronze! Congrats on another sweet hunt :icon_thumleft:

Well still getting a lot of the field, even after 4 years, good hunt. We have one field where the 4 of us have really cleaned out during the last 12 years, but it still does deliver some finds, but not even 1% what we pulled out in the first year. I think the field had never been searched, in the middle of an old village...

We need a deep plough, the limits of the site is about 3.5 acres, so relatively big :icon_thumright:

Yes that is true, we had another field that after about 5 years did not produce almost anything for 2 years. Then things happend, I even got 5 very nice short crosses on the field in one day, and others got stuff too. So I think someone lowered the plow a few inches... that was very nice.

Nice going on the Roman Pin, I was lucky enough to score one this season myself.
What are the chances of a deep plow on the field, to freshen it up?

Pretty good, as around the edges of the sugar beet was beans & after the harvested the loose beans have self seeded & grown quite big so will need ploughing in. But the beans only covered about 1/3rd of the site - so better than nothing.

Do not know how I missed this post CRU? :icon_scratch: .... Therefore that not enough time to read every post. :D
I like the hinge of the book and the Roman pin .
Greetings!
