Hey Jeff, you got a bunch of it right. I'm somewhat familiar with Liberty County. Sunbury did have fever outbreaks. It was a booming port town. One thing that lead to it's demise was that two hurricains struck the town in the early 1800s. Today, the area is 'out of town' residential, part is a wildlife management area (NO metal detecting), and it's really thick woods, so much gallberry, palmetto, wax myrtle you can't swing a detector. I have a couple of leads there, but will probably never attempt recovery.
