I got out on Sunday for a bottle dig in the old dump. The weather was nice the first part of the afternoon but later in the day it got cold. This dump was pounded in the 1970's and was never dug right. My buddy and I dug a long trench to find some virgin layer. Most of the ash and dirt top layer was dug. Some layer was found and I managed a couple keepers. The find of the day for me was the local drug store bottle. The Excelsior button has some gilt left and it is marked - WATERBURY BUTTON CO.. One of the lead seals is marked - 123 / N.Y. N.H. & H. R.R. which is for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Rail Road. i found lots of junk metal. This place wasn't detected when it was originally dug so most of the stuff is old.

I can't wait to get back. Thanks for looking! DD.
