Sunday's Digs & An Old Eyeball Find ...
Got out Sunday afternoon to hunt a part of the county that I haven't hunted this year. The bean field was harvested and conditions were good (except for the cold wind coming across the giant sized field). I was hunting an old house site that I researched from my old topo map that was torn down in the 1960s. I found the area pretty easily and started seeing the tell tale sign of brick and glass pieces. I was hoping for some oldies but found mostly newer items. My finds were: 4 wheat pennies, 3 memorial pennies, 1 clad dime, a Sunoco Antique Car Token from 1968 (my first of these tokens), a couple of buckles, cheap charm/necklace, full brass shotgun shell piece, and a few other odds and ends. The best find was an intact sea snail shell (say that 3 times fast) from a time when my area was under the ocean. It was a fun afternoon of digging and continuing to get the feel for my new AT Pro.
