Sunday's disappointment

I went to one of my beaches this morning but I didn't get to hunt there. They were having some kind of kids bike-a-thon and you were not allowed to park on the island. You had to park on the causeway and walk across to the island. The causeway was full! So I would have had to park way on the other side and walk all the way across. No way. But............. I bet the hunting will be good there tomorrow! I don't know if I will go then but .... who knows. I ended up down at Clearwater beach and I was really tired when I got there so I went ahead and paid the meters so I could park closer to the pier. I really should not have gone at all. I knew I was very tired and I had a really hard time walking today. This is one of my "tired" days. I just don't know why this happens but i have to sit down a lot! My body just did not want to cooperate with me this morning. My spirit was willing but my body was not. I stayed there about 2 hours and tried to get in the water 3 times but the waves were just too much. They kept knocking me around and besides the seaweed was awful! I feel better in the water that is why I kept trying but finally had to just give up. I did more sitting down there than hunting. I paid 3.00 for parking plus the gas to go down there and I ended up with 75 cents and of course NO gold ring. Oh well there's always tomorrow.

Sorry Mumszie. At least you got out there today. That's the gamble if one will or won't find anything. But what a disappointment to arrive and find an area closed.

I'm still on the sides cheering to see you with gold. If anyone deserves it, it would be you.....and NO I'm not giving up the emerald ring..hahaha

I still want to thank you for your words of encouragement to get me out there in June to hunt. If you hadn't I wouldn't have found all of those goodies.

Keep up the hard work and have fun.

Hey, you may not have found much today, but you did discover some valuable research! if that event is on the dry sand, I am sure it will be littered with targets tomorrow. And when theres a huge event on the dry sand, theres almost always some good jewelry in the mix. I would personally try to go later tonight, or first thing in the morning. First one to hunt it after the event is gonna get loaded

hang in there Mumzie, my bestest beach find yesterday was a pod of dolphins, which honestly made my nite..I loved it .. totally loved it..

No, it's a bike-a-thon and the kids will be riding bikes all over the place but not on the beach but I'm betting that the parents will be spreading blankes and towels on the beach and maybe swimming too. Who knows. I can't get out there later as the area will be closed but maybe first thing in the morning I will give it a try.

I feel your pain ,,, I too think getting in the water is very therapeutic its a lot easier on the body to hunt than the dry and wet sand .. as long as there no waves . you'll find some Cheese this week I can feel it Guzz

My sympathies, and empathy. I went to Venice beach and you got 75 cents more than I did. The west wind is not making the surf hunting very easy. I was thinking of heading up to the Clearwater area this afternoon for the low tide, but your report is somewhat saddening.

Humm...maybe will try around John's Pass...

It might not be too bad for you Guy but for me it was just too rough and I hated all the seaweed. I just couldn't seem to get away from it!

G I B, good luck around the pass. These west winds have kicked up a bunch although they have taken some sand off the beaches. Careful with the rips. I was out yesterday a.m. in that area, wow, it was rough.

Aloha Mumszie, look at it this way,....the Bank is making Interest for you!... Da Cheese is growing!..Like mold?.. kidding,, i say , more will be waitting for you! hey seaweed is one of the few things that creeps me out.

Yea, you guys were right.

Went up to John's Pass and did a little tourist thing. Then headed on the south side and did some MD'ing in the water, waist deep.

The wind had calmed a bit and only a few tough waves every now and then. Visibility in the water was terrible. Lots and lots of seaweed from the west wind. Spent an hour and a half in the surf for three bottle caps and some misc trash. Nada worth a darn. Oh well... It was a nice day anyhow and I got to pee in the water.
