I have told folks OVER and OVER to move slow and dig carefully and you don't need gloves. I haven't been cut in years. Well today I could have used my own advice!
I used to have a lot of the bottom unburied in this spot. I could see my landmarks. With all the new muck and weeds that wasn't the case today. I was stirring up the muck and sweeping my hand through it to get a lot to move downstream. Remember the tower I showed pictures of in the past:

I USED to have all three legs unburied and I was able to see them. This tower is in 9 foot of water now. One swipe of my hand through the muck and I hit one leg. I have a pretty deep gash in my right hand right now. Not deep enough for stitches I don't think but deep enough it isn't just a scratch. I threw my own advice out the door today. BE CAREFUL. Some of the landmarks I have unburied still are. That one unfortunately was not.

First dive found three rings, silver, brass and German silver and one wheat cent.

Second dive much better. 14K ring with black onyx and diamond. Initials AH carved in the black onyx. Next ring was a 1949 10K class ring and the last ring is a small Mason's ring which is also 10K. I got a high tone and dug what turned out to be a 1904 Barber dime and the whisper of a tone turned out to be the Masons ring in the same hole. A couple keys and another bath locker tag and a few other odds and ends. When we got out and I showed my dive partner my golds he saw the AH and had a good idea what they stood for when it came to me finding that many golds to his none. You all can probably guess without me telling you.

Anyway. I got a new set of headphones from Tony yesterday and was itching to get out and try them. They are louder and I can hear better. Still not as loud as I would like them but I am going to make the best of them. I talked to Minelab two days ago. I hope they will increase the top end volume also but will see.

I wish the toy boat was in better shape. This is the third one I have pulled out of there.

Congrats on all the nice gold. Sorry about your hand and hope it doesn’t keep you from hunting. Good luck

Sweet old gold !! Maybe a stich or three is in order. Butterflies would probably work well enough.

Nice finds but man that hand is rough.

giphy.gif...I ALMOST ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES - IN COOL AND COLD WATER I WEAR KEVLAR ONES FROM KEENE ENGINEERING

Be careful out there SD. Nice scores. The Masonic ring is a real choice find IMO.

Good luck sir.

Make sure that doesn't get infected! That mud and muck holds some nasty bacteria alongg with the great finds.

Ouch ! Glad you at least found some rings out of the deal. Hope it heals soon.

OUCH, that looks like it will leave a scar. Very nice rings, congratulations :occasion14:

Great finds and clean up.

OW! That cut looks really sore, and in a spot that will take a lot of time to heal, I hope you cleaned, cleaned, cleaned it! Like a couple others said, PLZ take precautions as water carries lots of nasty bacteria. Of course I'm telling to this to someone who practically lives in the water, so I'm sure you know the routine. Those golds are awesome! Congrats on a couple of great dives, that old site keeps on producing...AH..Lol..Ddf

Congratualtions on the nice finds! :occasion14:

Sorry about the deep cut...

Meh....just a little nick!. Get your @$# back out there pirate, there's treasure to be had!!

Real happy that the gold was there for ya brother. Helps take the sting out of the cut. But hey, sometimes this addiction costs us a little right?

Take care.

Get yourself healed up, Scuba...since you were swimmin' around in that sterile, pristine waterway, get the local sawbones to look at it. Infections can be nasty, and you don't need one that will keep you out of the water.

Seeing the ring made me think about an old MASH episode, where a local Korean con-man came up to sell "Hitler's pencil-box" to one of the main characters.
Good to know the neurons still flash to something I saw in re-run 30 years ago...thanks for the trip!

Get better, and nicely done!

Sweet Gold,, Sorry to see that cut, in salt water,, you would have brought in the sharks,
Congratulations on your finds.

Congrats on the rings Scuba! Bummer on the cut but clean it and go find more!:icon_thumright:

Nice gold ring finds Scuba. Take care.

I did the same thing last week. Got six stitches and a tetanus shot. Now I am seriously looking at some anti cut Kevlar gloves. My whole season is ruined. I was cutting rubber hose for a transmission cooler.
