SunRay Probe for Ace 250

My friend Tina uses the sunray probe on her ACE250 and loves it. She has been so impressed she is now selling them at her store and folks are definitely liking them. I don't have a probe yet so that is the best I can do as far as a recommendation for ya. Hope that helps!

Well, I departed with 179USD so I'll have it by Friday and I'll post my own review here in the comming weeks.

cool! looking forward to seeing how you like it!

Got the PP today. Two hours searching in the yard and I found numerous targets that I missed before. I was basically digging my own turned dirt. My best find was a 1945 nickel and a 1989 coin from hong kong. Cuts my searching time in half. The holes are not as big or deep. I was using it with the standard coil. Tomorrow I'm gonna hit an 88 acre farm from the early 1800's! Tell ya how day two goes.

woooohoooo You go!! Sounds like it is working out for you great! I just knew you would love it!

I have been looking at probes, planning to one day get one. I have decided against this probe. Not because it is bad. Indeed, everything I have heard about this probe's ability is great! The reason I have decided against this one is I plan on one day getting a different detector, which would mean putting down more money on another probe, since they are unit specific.

If you are like me and plan on one day moving up from your ACE, then think about this fact, and get a probe that isn't specific to your detector! If you plan on getting one for each detector, and don't mind that extra expense, then the sun ray does indeed seem like a great tool!

Want some humble advise? If all you do is search parks, school yards etc the 250 or any other machine in the department will do you just fine. If your going to relic hunt some forgotten battle field or celler hole then maybe a better machine will do you. Think of a 250 like your car you drive everyday to work. And now think of a more advanced detector like a 18 wheeler. Whats more easy to drive? Both gets you from point A to B.

True. I think of it like a beginner model. It will give me time to know if I like the hobby. I know some very old places that I want to hunt several time a year at least. This may require a better machine to do properly, as they are OLD. The ability to go deep and find those old items is going to result in better and more finds. The ACE is a good machine, but if I get into this hobby I am eventually going to want a nice machine to do it. However first I have to start finding some stuff period! I am hoping that the hobby ends up paying for itself eventually.

I have used the ACE 250 and I have to say it"s a coin maginet and if thats what you start out with and then up-grade it will make a nice back up machine.
