Hey Max Thanks for all of your help on the Explorer. It is up and working great. I took out to do a little land hunting and it is nice to swing a lot lighter than the original Minelab set up. I got the Grey Ghost water proof head phones and Have submerged the box for a half hour to see If I had any leaks. It is Good To go I hope to get to the beach sometime soon. Found these Three bullets at a Civil war camp here in TN yesterday on the test run. ;D

yes sir jason

looks like one heck of a nice job there - good luck in 2006

i am heading to the lane in 30mins.

later

who sells the water proof case for them, and what size needed, tnks

The Case it went in is a GSI Outdoors waterproof case. Not made for it but with some cutting, drilling, soldering, and gluing you can make it work.

Jason

i tried it hip mounted today, have tried like this before, but used smaller belt (3/4") - did not work well, so i added some snaps and gave it a go today..................worked much nicer

Max Looks good. I may have to try that hip mount when it warms up the chest mount is fine for me in the winter but I was thinking it may be a little hot on the beach in the summer. Here are a couple more pictures of the finished product. I found some heat shrink to fit the battery packs so they turned out nice and neat.

RJ. I think the case was the medium size. It is about 7" x 6" and about 4" deep Out side diameter

ok tnks, will do some checking on it,

WOW! That's pretty nifty!! Have any trouble with condensation forming in the container? Very nice job. HH

Nice bit of construction there.

Do you ever put one of those silica packs inside to absorm the ambient moisture?

Here in Fla, moisture is a constant. Anytime you seal something, you seal in the humidity in the atmosphere. Unless you have a way to dry out the sealed in air you will have condensation problems.

Guys I have had no problem with the mosture in the box. The battery is in the box and with evert thing running in there it stays nice and warm in there. The silica pouch is a good idea.
