Swamp Hunters ....really?

On the TV I stumbled across the middle of something last night that looked like a redneck overeaters club that was supposedly looking for a civil war POW camp. It kind of looked like a reality show, kind of. They were using metal detectors and kept passing out from the heat or exertion. At one point they found a garden trowel looking bayonet with no corrosion and announced it was an officer's bayonet. Later they get to a field and dig a very clean cannon ball that has an obviously large fuse hole. They stick a long fuse in the hole and light it and run, and it supposedly blows up. Later they dig this cannon up that is pristine with no obvious corrosion and sell it for $15,000. Was this show supposed to be a parody of a digger's show, or just one more stupid show to put our hobby in bad light?

These shows are sad and pathetic.But if you enjoy watching them have fun.They would not be on tv if they did not have an audience.The more i watch tv nowadays the more i see that there is more garbage on tv than what i put to the street to dispose of every week.

you ever notice there are 4 of them , But I'd swear they have about 10 different detectors
with them swapping detectors between scenes , next time I watch I'm going to have to watch closer on that
but my guess half of the ones they are swinging have no batteries in them either .

It seems like they only made about 4 episodes, I guess it was a pilot season ? They have claim jumpers that follow them around, they put a clothes line across a trail a knocked one guy off his ATV, and then they got into a big fist fight brawl with the claims jumpers another time, lol.
