Yes, I also found a Colts patent powder flask at this sight today, the sights coins found have been between 1853 and 1906 If that helps

I am not, and don't even pretend to be a "gun" guy... but, I think it's one of the several Colt models... based on the brass trigger section that is seperate and bolts to the gun's iron/steal body.

I'm just looking at pictures... I'm sure someone will confirm it or correct me!  ;)

Yes, it appears to be from one of the Colt black powder revolvers made from approx. 1840's to 1872. Great stuff!

The Colt 1853 Navy revolver had a brass frame. If it's brass that could be a good clue. Monty
