Do you know of those were for postage stamps or tobacco stamps? Maybe that sat on a desk when they were wrapping cigars and affixed the stamp when they were done?

It is a beautiful find - I don't know if it's banner worthy -( but that's a consensus decision ,not up to me ) I can say I've never seen one
of those . Can you tell us a bit more about how/where you located it ?

Well anytime you dig something neat that's 121 years old in northern minnesota, that's a banner find! I found it at the base of a huge white pine, that had been cut down on the banks of the Mississippi River, it's an old fishing hole.
