Sword Buckle

I found this at the weekend up here in NH and was wondering if anyone could back up My ID. My friend and I think it is an officers sword buckle. I nearly fell over when this popped out at 10 inches..I thought I would never find something like this in the woods up here!! Thanks for looking.

Nice. that one has the wreath cast onto the plate while some had a silver wreath applied. I think there was a certain maker of the type you dug but can't remember.

Nice find.
Can we get a picture of the back to see the attachments?
Also, most will have a # on the back that would correspond to a belt keeper with a similar number.
