I like metal detecting around old rock structures built into the sides of the hills, be it a cellar, spring house, or anything obviously man made. I am not much for chasing treasure myths but I have found this symbol carved into the stones on more than one occasion and have no idea what if anything it means.

That is clearly the stick figure image of a decapitated man buried upside down. Be careful where you dig...I will do more research to confirm.

Could be for a ranch in the area The Y-bar could be the brand symbol they had and where you found it could have been property boundaries.

Who knows, but I've seen them in both Arkansas and Missouri. I wonder if they could even be some stone masons trademark from back in the day.

I like stuff like that. Wouldn't it be great if you found a Cache in the area of that stone?

That would be great and I hope I do, however I don't have any real life expectations of finding riches. I do it for the rush of a good find, my treasure is what I learn. Only Alzheimer's can take that away, and then I get to learn about it over and over :-)
