Finally got to get in the water - first time this year
also first time I got to use my new mask under hunt conditions - only saw the pool before today

was heading back to where I started and got a loud blast - thought I had a corona cap on top - ended up being a fat 14k band (will post pic of it later)
my gal just happened to be taking this pick and that is when I got the ring because I got nothing 10 mins before or 10 mins after this pic and she said I was directly in front of her -
told her had I known she was taking a pic - I would have held it up before dropping it in my pouch

the mask worked great - a little spit kept it from fogging - headphones fit fine
your breathe actually keeps your face warm - under my chin only area that got cold

Can't wait to see the pic of the gold, Casper.

Congrats on the ring find, and thx for the pics of the beach and water

Mask looks interesting, I remember seeing a video about it. How well does your scoop work in the surf?

fantastic for me - thought I sent you link to my articles - was one there on scoops
RTG - travel model with large basket

Oh I know, I just wanted to see how well others use it. I tend to have trouble recovering targets.

on dry sand and wet - buy new Garrett water proof pinpointer - when you do your first scoop - stick it in hole and should help recovery a lot faster
in water I tell people to get a big basket scoop and use a mask or goggles - so you can see where to scoop

I have the Garrett Pro Pointer AT just haven't used it in the sand yet, didn't occur to me. I am planning to buy a big scoop for surf so I can have the RTG scoop for dry sand and a big scoop for wet. Sorry for hi-jacking your thread.

So I take it the mask worked well? Any downsides?

Congratulations on finding the 14K ring and having an understanding gal.

she gets to go on a lot of trips and she gets to wear all the diamonds

I would love to see peoples reactions when they see you!!

last year - an old woman thought I was a seal - she kept yelling to everyone - "look at the seal..there's a seal!"
today a woman was screaming at me - I looked up and she was waving - I looked behind me thinking there was a boat or something - she just wanted me to pick my head up so her husband could get a pic - probably to show friends and say "look at the fool in the cold water"

yep ur on her facebook, may be a downside of the mask, we draw enough attention as it is, now we look like astronauts haha

I dream of my beaches having mellow water like that. Constant 4 ft'ers smacking you in the face doesn't make for much fun. And if I get far enough out to get past the waves I wont be able to touch the bottom...

Great Mask. It's going on my wish list to be sure.

I'll bet you got the curious one's attention? That's a helluva set up! Good Luck!
