Still one of the fanciest rings I've seen come out of the ground ever! Could be considered another unsung Illinois banner find.

wow you sure are doing good at finding gold rings in the ground!

I see an ETRAC for you in the near future....

That's such an awesome ring.
I would hate to see you sell it to a jeweler or gold place or pawn shop for what will probably be less than a wholesale price on it. Granted any money you get from it is literally "found money" but maybe instead of accepting their lowball offers (which is what they will be) what about the possibility of offering the ring directly to a detector dealer?

If you get a good appraisal on it from a reputable jeweler, you can use that as a guideline for the value as trade in on a detector. You can discount the appraisal some to make it more attractive to a detector dealer. And since paper dollars are becoming more and more worthless, the value of gold and diamonds is going up!

Thats true. Thanks Mayo. Yeah jewelers have offered me 250 bucks for it... but hopefully it appraises at $1500+ and then I can try selling it somewhere for "half price" and use the $700+ towards something nice. We'll see. As you said, it is "found money" but I won't let a jeweler rip me off.

Thanks and HH. I'll let everyone know in 2 weeks what it appraises at.

Yep that is one nice ring...Hope you get a good price...

I think I might've lost a ring that looked similar to this one... could it be?

Great find, I would try to ask a couple of different people. When my dad found a gold ring we first went to a jewelry shop to ask the price range that the store would sell something like it for and they gave us a good answer. Good luck!

Hope you get some big $$$$$$$. Ring looks Great!
