I cant wait to hunt this spot in the late fall, warm winter(if I am lucky enough not to have 3 feet of frozen ground), or early spring. So I had the liberty of being chauffeured around on friday night, and with my daughter being at her mothers, I did some late night drinking detecting. Oh what great fun. Stumbling around happily the the dark; I set forth to the task of working any bit of ground that the grass didn't keep my coil to high, or that didn't get me in a inebriated entanglement of thorns. Only tripping once or twice, I managed to pull some decent objects out. I grabbed a buffalo, couple of wheaties, an 1897 indian, curry comb piece, a oil lamp head, and a really cool hook thing(thinking part of old hanging gas/oil lamp or chandelier. Another day I went exploring for new cellar holes and came across a few. On one I did some quick test digging and found what looks to be a tombac button, an old silver plated fancy spoon, and some rivets. A bunch of these new cellar holes look untouched or only poked around on. Then a quick after work hunt while I waited to pick up my daughter from soccer practice yielded this cool old 1800s copper ring. One of my first signals and I spent the rest of the time looking for the stone with no luck.
