Another awesome hunt with my buddy Joe down in Sunbury, GA. This hunt produced so much history that is hard to focus on any one favorite find. I really like the Tallio cufflink and the silver cufflink with some kind of a gemstone. I also like the 1795 half real and 1857 Trime. The lead seal piece was a big surprise. I knew it was a lead seal, but only after cleaning it did it real the shield design. There is a lantern piece with markings by the Dietz & Co, which started in 1840. The owner sold out in 1868 and became another name. I believe this piece is civil war period since I have dug other items in the same area from the civil war. The brass piece that is cut in half looks like it could be part of a decorative piece from a musket? Tobac buttons, pewter spoon (rat tail) handle, parasol wire unbelievable. The only unfortunate thing was my camera ran out of battery before filming the half real and trime.

I’m very curious as to what the gemstone could be in the silver cufflink? If anyone knows please comment?

Thanks!

I'll make a guess that your stone is brown jasper. Gary

Thanks! I know very little about gemstones in jewelry. For its age, the stone has no scratches. It's very shiny, which is never the case with what I find.

Awesome !!!! Congrats!!!!! Bucket Listers for Me!!!! I think Toddspoint is right on the stone. Look up Bruneau Jasper.

Thanks!

What a great mix of finds. Hard to pick a favorite with a crowd like that.

Thanks!

Some beautiful old eye candy!. Congrats. :headbang:

Great finds the reale and trime are really awesome but I think the Tallio cufflink is the star of the show. Very nice. Congrats!!!

Thanks! Ha ha, that is what I was going to make the title of this post initially.

Nice recoveries. Love the cufflinks, especially the one with the stone. The two little silvers are pretty sweet too.

Thanks! Looking back on Tnet you posted some of the running fox Tallio cufflinks back in 2012. Nice

I think I'm up to 5 of them now. Still haven't found a linked pair. Maybe you have seen this, but I'm sure others haven't. This is how they were sold back in the day.
